Conference topic: How does wrong become right?

In today’s America, supporting traditional marriage is unlawful discrimination. To advocate for national borders is hateful. To exercise one’s faith in the public square is bigoted.

The Bible wrote about it millennia ago: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!”

In 2015, five justices of the U.S. Supreme Court, including two who had publicly affirmed same-sex “marriage,” determined there was a constitutional right to a status that had been rejected by society for millennia.

The five justices insisted their decision was constitutional, but Chief Justice John Roberts, in his dissent, argued otherwise.

“The majority’s decision is an act of will, not legal judgment,” he wrote. “The right it announces has no basis in the Constitution or this court’s precedent.

Roberts said the majority “expressly disclaims judicial ‘caution’ and omits even a pretense of humility, openly relying on its desire to remake society according to its own ‘new insight’ into the ‘nature of injustice.’”

“As a result, the court invalidates the marriage laws of more than half the states and orders the transformation of a social institution that has formed the basis of human society for millennia, for the Kalahari Bushmen and the Han Chinese, the Carthaginians and the Aztecs. Just who do we think we are?”

He continued: “If you are among the many Americans – of whatever sexual orientation – who favor expanding same-sex marriage, by all means celebrate today’s decision. Celebrate the achievement of a desired goal. Celebrate the opportunity for a new expression of commitment to a partner. Celebrate the availability of new benefits.

“But do not celebrate the Constitution. It had nothing to do with it.”

So now comes the new Sovereign Nations Conference, which will focus on understanding why such developments that defy established social norms happen.

The organizers cite the first century B.C. poet Virgil, who said, “Blessed is he who understands the hidden causes of things.”

“This statement is as brilliant today as it was 2,000 years ago. Why has the entire foundation of law and justice been cast aside in an all-out embrace of Marxist-sourced social justice conformity?

“Why have the Judeo Christian concepts of freedom and liberty been thrown into the ash heap of history as the nations of the earth sprint toward the chains of global manipulation?

“Will the United States succumb to Open Borders and the manipulation of George Soros?”

The U.S. Supreme Court’s marriage decision was an argument over having a same-sex partner’s name on a legal document. And suddenly the entire nation to accept such “marriage.” Christian photographers, bakers, engravers and others suddenly are not only the objects of criticism, they are made criminals by their government.

The conference, Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, will “confront the issues, debate the consequences, and explore the causes of things that are destroying our liberty.”

The lineup of speakers will include Ambassador Alan Keyes, Christian apologist James White, Rep. Bill Johnson, Capital Research Center Senior VP Matthew Vadum, Veritas Forum founder Kelly Monroe Kullberg, Sovereign Nations President Michael O’Fallon, Sheologians blogger Summer White, OnePassion’s Steven Lawson, WND Founder and CEO Joseph Farah, BarbWire founder Matt Barber and others.

Speaker topics will be “Fake News,” “The Reformation of America,” “Rent an Evangelical,” “Identity Politics,” “We Hold These Truths” and “To Know the Causes of Things.”

The conference is being held at the Trump International Hotel in the historically significant Old Post Office on Pennsylvania Avenue that has been restored to an elegance “far beyond its initial grandeur.”

The speakers’ list features individuals who are known for their ability to see through the smokescreens of politics and uncover the truth.

For example, Johnson commented recently on President Trump’s decision not to recertify Barack Obama’s Iran nuclear deal.

“It is clear that a new, comprehensive strategy is vital to preventing Iran from ever creating or acquiring nuclear weapons, and checking its regional aggression,” he said. “Not only has Iran repeatedly displayed a disturbing pattern of behavior while continuing to recruit and fund terrorist groups. … But the Iranian regime’s continued nuclear testing on military sites also undermines the standards set up by the international community to promote security and regional stability.”
